Hi there, I'm Lukas
I work as a project manager, a parent, and I live abroad as an expat in Munich, Germany.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn't part of the long-range plan. As with many international assignments, it began with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture clash, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, habits took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built MeadowLeafStudio
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Germany.
What This Site Does and Does Not Do
This site IS:
- Hands-on insights from life in Germany
- Centered on family living and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site DOESN'T INCLUDE:
- Not a government tourism resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Germany continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Munich or elsewhere in Germany, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Lukas
